how do you ship a hand drawn sketch through the mail?
I first spray it with a fixative spray to protect your charcoal, chalk, graphite, or pastel drawings.
By doing this the fixative spray keeps the surfaces from smudging, fading, and flaking after a work is complete.
The finished work piece can be shipped 1 of 2 ways; ether rolled-up in a tube or shipped flat.
Larger sizes are normally cheaper to ship in a Shipping tube.

How long will a sketch drawing last?
As to how long will a sketch drawing last; It all depends on the quality both the paper and pencil you use.
The quality of paper and pencil not only determines the quality of drawings but also determines how long it will last.
Poor quality paper tend to yellow over time.
I Always use artist quality paper and pencils to get good quality drawings and for longer lasting results.
Some of the brands of paper are: Canson c a’ grain, Brustro and Strathmore.
These three brands are of archival quality meaning they don’t yellow over time and lasts longer.
One more thing to keep in mind is that the graphite and charcoal sketches smudge or smear very easily.
There are so many ways to protect sketches from smudging.
The best way is to put your sketch behind a glass frame.
Another way which I often follow is by using a fixative.
Fixative comes as a spray which forms a protective transparent film on the sketch.
Note: It is best to hang your finished work away from direct sunlight.
Will charcoal is not as prone to sun fading as other mediums; it is always best to hang your finished work away from direct sunlight.
Proper care of your drawing is important for lasting results.
Pencil doesn't Fade. Because Pencil is made up of Graphite and its a very stable material.
It is also recommended you not hang your finished work in a highly moist area; as mold may start to grow on the paper.
